In this modern technologial age we are very aware of security risks involving online computers and have activated stringent precautions to make our network as secure as possible. Your personal information stored within our database is protected by a Firewall which is monitored 24 hours a day 7 days a week to ensure its security is never even close to being breached.

Our additional security processes includes the following:

LOG ON SECURITY
Your username and password are just part of the security placed on your account. Here at Integrity we utilise a specialised caller id system to monitor not only the username and password but the telephone number used to connect to the Internet. This makes it impossible for your account to be used by anyone who is not in your home at your computer system. Your mail may be accessed via our Web Mail facility when you are travelling however you must dial in independantly of your account and access the Web Mail page for instructions.

VIRUS SCANNING & ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE
All email messages sent to our mail server are scanned by our virus software to detect and remove viruses passing through our network. The Anti-Virus Software is updated on a daily basis. This protection feature is free to all our customers and is very valuable in the fight against viruses. On an average week our software catches approximately 10,000 infected emails on their way to infect your computer.

There are many different types of viruses a common example would be a worm or a trojan horse virus. These viruses are generally passed via email to unsuspecting recipients with sometimes serious repercussions. At the very least you may lose time and money from such an attack and particularly for a business this may have serious financial consequences.

Many people are not aware that there are new viruses released onto the Internet on a daily basis and no virus protection package can guarantee you 100% protection against infection. As a result even with our virus scanning in place you need to buy additional software such as Norton Antivirus, VET or McAfee to protect yourself against an attack. Antivirus software may be purchased from any computer outlet or available for purchase and download from the Internet. It is important to remember to update your personal antivirus software on a daily basis to keep up with the new virus releases.

VIRUS CHECKLIST

  • Update your Antivirus software daily.
  • Avoid opening emails, particularly attachments, when you do not recognise the name of the sender.
  • When in doubt delete the email.
  • Do not insert floppy disks into your computer that have been used on another persons computer if you are uncertain of the standard of their protection.
  • Be sensible about the quality of website you visit as in some cases it is possible to be infected with a virus from visiting a website.

HACKERS & CRACKERS
A person who tries to gain unauthorised access to a computer system is commonly called a Hacker or more correctly a Cracker. To protect yourself against this type of invasion you may wish to purchase Firewall software. A firewall is a device or software package utilised to prevent unauthorised access to a system or network. Microsoft XP actually has firewall capabilities inbuilt into the operating system. To maximise this feature of XP ensure you install the Microsoft updates as they are downloaded to your computer as they are increasing and modifying the security in the software package.
